The Packetmaster units have many powerful features: filtering, load balancing, modifying traffic, aggregation and many more. All these features are already included in basic price. No extra charge for ports, no extra charge for software. The Cubro concept is one unit one price with all features open and all ports activated. But for large deployments with many links sometimes aggregation is enough. For this type of projects we offer an aggregation only option. The customer specifies the number of outputs needed and the desired data rate. Cubro configures the unit to your needs, these units can be purchased for a special price. Ask for the Aggregation only option! |

The non-blocking design of the Packetmaster allows using the Packetmaster in pass through mode.In pass through mode the traffic is passing the Packetmaster without using external TAPs. In pass through mode the Packetmaster is transparent and the traffic is sent from one port to the other without interruption. Moreover, it is also possible to aggregate the traffic of various links to a designated output at the same time. Filtering and all other Packetmaster features are also provided in the through mode. |

Today TAPs and Aggregators are a vital part of any kind of monitoring system. Some TAPs and Aggregators are smart, some are not. Normally there is no interaction between the TAPs and no interaction between the monitoring system and the TAPs. The reason for this situation is that TAPs and Aggregating devices work more or less static, even if they do filtering. But the monitoring situation today needs a different approach. There are some reasons why.Huge amounts of traffic growth, complex protocols and applications, need for all-layer-monitoring, and another big driver is the relation of monitoring cost compared to the equipment cost itself. When monitoring equipment is purchased today it can easily happen that it is overloaded six months later, because the process of purchasing and installing takes several months. In the meantime the traffic is grown to or above the limits of the monitoring system. |

Virtualisation is a very common approach in datacentres, but for monitoring purposes it is somehow not so easy, because the network communication within the hypervisor is not transported over the physical NIC in the server, it is transported over the virtual switch. Thus, there is no access to this traffic. But there are two pretty simple solutions to overcome this problem. |
