The Aggregation function helps to combine Ethernet traffic from different links or ports to one ore more ports, to reduce the amount of monitoring devices.

Multi Link Aggregation

The Packetmaster combines up to eleven 10/100/1000 Mbit/s links and ggregates this traffic from all of these links to one or two outputs. It is also possible to change the number of inputs to get more outputs (e.g. 10 links input and 4 outputs).

Multi Port Aggregation

Packetmaster can also be used as port aggregator. It aggregates up to 23 10/100/1000 Mbit/s ports to a single 1000 Mbit/s monitoring port.

The configuration is flexible – meaning that the number of input ports can be decreased while the number of output ports is increased (e.g. 20 input ports and 4 output ports).

Aggregation example

Packetmaster allows you to combine as many units as needed. Furthermore it is also possible to mix port aggregation with link aggregation.

The only limit is the output bandwidth of the monitoringport.
