Very often it happens that the network links which should be monitored and the motoring equipment are not located at the same site. Of course tapping of the original signal has to be done where the networks links are physically connected. For this CUBRO offers a wide range of products such as optical TAPs or Ethernet Aggregation TAPs. But how to bring the tapped traffic to the monitoring equipment?

Multiservice CWDM Multiplexer The CUBRO CWDM Multiservice Multiplexer is the heart of the solution. It actually consists of two stages.
Stage 1 is a fully transparent regenerator plus wavelength transponder. It converts a standard black&white STM-1/4/16 or Ethernet signal into a CDWM colored signal. The input wavelengths to the Wavelength Multiplexer are according to ITU-T Grid. Moreover, the Converter refreshes the signal. The minimum optical input level into the converter is -25dBm. The CWDM Multiplexer combines the different wavelengths to a single optical fiber and sends the data to Site B. Insertion Loss of the CWDM Multiplexer is only 3dB per channel. The output power of the CWDM Multiservice MUX is approx. -6dBm per channel.

Stage 2 is a CWDM Multiplexer which ombines the different wavelengths to a single optical fiber and sends the data to Site B. Insertion Loss of the CWDM Multiplexer is only 3dB per channel. The output power of the CWDM Multiservice MUX is approx. -6dBm per channel. In terms of power supply the unit can be delivered with 230AC as well as 48VDC – also redundancy is possible. In terms of size the unit fits into 1U for 8 channels and 2U for 16 channels.
Multiservice CWDM Demultiplexer The CUBRO CWDM Multiservice DEMUX is placed at site B and converts the incoming CWDM channels to individual outputs. The Multiservice Demux handles up to 16 channels in a very compact 1U height 19” chassis. The Multiservice Demux is fully passive and does not need any power supply. The insertion loss of the demux is typically 3dB for each channel. In terms of optical connectors the demultiplexer is flexible and can be delivered with SC or LC.
