Want to monitor the traffic of an optical Gigabit Ethernet link with your existing monitoring equipment, which features only a 1000B-T electrical input? The 1GE Converter TAP is the right answer for this challenge. With its fully passive connection to the network it doesn´t influence the traffic of the optical network link while still allowing full access to the traffic via the electrical 1000B-T monitoring port.

The network link can be either in Multimode (850/1300nm) or Singlemode (1310/1550nm). By default Cubro 1GE Converter TAPs are delivered with SC type connectors. Optional, the units can also be equipped with FC or LC connectors – according to your requirements
By default Cubro 1GE Converter TAPs come with four monitoring ports per network link (two port per traffic direction). For parallel monitoring (e.g. monitoring system plus portable decoder) it is also possible to double the monitoring ports exists.
Optical Splitters installed at the network link inputs allow fully passive connection to the link under test. Thus the network link is not interrupted even if the power supply to the TAP fails. Moreover, the splitting ratio is selectable according to the available optical power budget.
